About U.S. House of Representatives

Established in 2008, The Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program (formerly the Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program) was created to provide employment opportunities for veterans returning from overseas. Many of these veterans were wounded and/or disabled, and finding full-time employment was an existential challenge.

Congressman Trent Kelly led the charge to expand the Green & Gold program to include Gold Star Family Members. In January of 2021, Congressman Kelly hosted the first Gold Star Family Member.

In 2022, veteran participation in the Green & Gold program is expanded by removal of the disability requirement.

★ Veteran & Military Community Commitment

The Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program provides two-year employment opportunities for Veterans, Gold Star Family Members, and Active-Duty Spouses to work for the U.S. House of Representatives nationwide.
